Developmental Edting

This is big picture editing. It focuses on the overall structure, content, and flow of a manuscript and looks at organization, narrative arc, and the clarity of ideas.

Line Editing

Alternatively called Style Editing, this involves refining the language at the sentence and paragraph level to improve the tone, style, pacing, and readability.

Copy Editing

Copy Editing ensures correctness and consistency in grammar, punctuation, spelling, and usage, and it often involves adhering to a specific style guide.

Proofreading

Proofreading provides a final check of a document for surface errors in spelling, punctuation, and formatting as well as minor typographical issues before publication.

What do I do as an editor?

As a freelance editor, I concentrate on editing academic work as well as editing creative writing such as memoirs, novels, and short stories. I also edit web content, communications, and technical documents. In all of this work, my job is to make your writing look great.
